Yves Saint Laurent
French fashion house Yves Saint Laurent, also known as YSL, was founded by Yves Henri Donat Mathieu-Saint-Laurent. He was just 17 years old when he took the glamorous way of fashion. His mentor was Christian Dior, who gave him priceless advice about the world of fashion and beauty.
He was just 21 years old when his mentor, Christian Dior, passed away, leaving him as head of the house of Dior. The time he spent on this prestigious position, however, was short as he was drafted into the army. A few years after his military service was over he started his own fashion company.
The creator of the first women’s tuxedo, Yves Saint Laurent is one of the most influential fashion designers of the 1960s and 1970s. The brand’s first fragrance, Y for women, was launched in 1964. Today YSL offers hundreds of successful perfumes created by the best perfumers in the world.
