Valentino
The Italian fashion house Valentino was founded by the famous designer Valentino Garavani in 1959. An internationally acknowledged fashion empire that has nowadays spread to more than 70 countries, boasting a long and rich history, Valentino is a true representative of the eternal Italian style.
The brand takes pride in the rich and famous customers they’ve had throughout the years, including Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Princess Margaret, Julia Roberts, and Claudia Schiffer. Valentino also designed a series of mourning dresses for Jacqueline Kennedy that she wore in the year after her husband’s assassination. She was so impressed by them that she asked him to design the wedding gown in which she married Aristotle Onassis afterwards.
An interesting fact about Valentino is that he was so famous for his red dresses, that there is a shade of red that is known as “Valentino Red”.
Valentino fragrances were created first in collaboration with Procter and Gamble, but today (as of 2010) they are offered together with Puig. The first Valentino perfume was launched in 1978 while his bestselling perfume, Valentina Valentino, was launched in 2011.
