Puma
The German brand Puma was founded in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler. It has a rather interesting story preceding its foundation. At the beginning Rudolf, and his brother, Adolph, started their business with athletic shoes together. Their shoes were used in several Olympics events, which greatly improved their company’s reputation through the years.
After the World War II, however, the two brothers parted their professional ways, each one founding a rival shoe company. Rudolph founded Puma, while Adolph founded… Adidas!
Rudolph’s Puma was focused on football shoes at the beginning (with Pele being among the most famous footballers wearing Puma shoes), but today the famous sports brand offers shoes, clothing, accessories, and perfumes.
Puma’s fragrances are created in collaboration with the cosmetics giant Procter & Gamble. Most of them are designed around the sports theme with sports related packaging and professional athletes used for their advertising. The perfumer behind Puma’s fragrances is Nathalie Gracia-Cetto.
