The Gres’ foundation was created in 1942. It then manages to conquer the fashion world and become a leader in it for a really short period of time. Its fame for creating really luxurious outfits suited for bourgeois and aristocrats leads to the joining of many celebrities such as Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Vivian Lee to this group. Gres makes its first steps in the perfumery world in 1959. Madame Gres’ journey to India becomes the main reason and inspiration for the creation of the first Gres perfume – Cabochard. Madame Gres dies in 1993 but at her daughter's request, the news is revealed a year later.
Today Gres perfumes are the equivalent of high quality in the perfume industry. The company works closely with famous and gifted perfumers such as Max Gavari, Domitille Mihalon, Jean-Claude Deville, Alexandra Monet.
