Antonio Puig

The Antonio Puig company was founded in 1914 in Barcelona, Spain, by Antonio Puig. The family owned business operates in the fashion, beauty and fragrance industries on more than 140 markets. The first fragrance, crated by Antonio Puig – Agua Lavanda Puig, was launched back in 1940. In 1960, the company grew stronger as new perfumery and cosmetics laboratories were built, improving the overall quality of the products.

In the 1980s it reached a new level when a contract was signed between Antonio Puig and Carolina Herrera, allowing the Spanish company to both create and market all Carolina Herrera’s fragrances.

This contract started a widely successful era for the company, signing contracts with popular names in the fashion and show businesses, as well as the fragrance industry, like Paco Rabanne, Antonio Banderas, Nina Ricci, Prada, Shakira, Valentino, Jean Paul Gaultier fashion house and many more.

In 2009, the company’s name was changed to the simpler Puig. Being one of the oldest perfume houses, no wonder some of the greatest perfumers agreed to create fragrances for Antonio Puig – these are Marcel Carles, Rosendo Mateu, Jacques Polge, Jean-Francois Latty, Max Gavary and Alberto Morillas.
