Givenchy
The French fashion brand Givenchy was founded in 1952 by Count Hubert de Givenchy. Dealing with fashion, accessories, and fragrances, Givenchy is what comes to mind when you think of Audrey Hepburn – both her personal wardrobe and her costumes as an actress were designed by the famous brand, creating a halo of elegance and glamour around their name.
Givenchy’s first fragrance, L'Interdit, was launched in 1957 and was (not surprisingly) inspired by Audrey Hepburn. In 1987 Givenchy became part of the international conglomerate LVMH, continuing its success worldwide.
Offering about 200 perfumes, Givenchy is not only among the oldest, but also among the richest and most diverse perfume houses when it comes to the fragrances they create. They are equally good at making classic elegant perfumes and catching the spirit of the young generation, creating youthful fragrances, successfully advertised by celebrities in the music and movie industry like Liv Tyler and Justin Timberlake.
Among the numerous perfumers that have been working with Givenchy, you will find Dominique Ropion, Emilie (Bevierre) Coppermann, Olivier Cresp, Francois Demachy, Daniel Hoffmann, Alberto Morillas, Jacques Cavallier, Sophie Labbe, Anne Flipo and Annick Menardo.
