Bijan
Bijan is an Iranian designer of menswear and fragrances, whose focus has always been high-end designer clothes.
Born in 1940, Bijan moved to LA in 1973, after opening up his successful first boutique in Tehran - The Pink Panther. The House of Bijan launched their first boutique on Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles in October 1976, which was claimed to be the most expensive boutique in the world.
Bijan quickly started to make a name for himself, attracting wealthy and popular customers, among which have been politicians, such as Barack Obama, George Bush, Putin, as well as fashion designers, such as Oscar de la Renta and Tom Ford, and actors, such as Tom Cruise and Anthony Hopkins.
The fragrances of the House of Bijan are known for their signature round glass bottle design with a hole in the middle and a turban-like cap, one of which is featured in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institute. In 1987, the fragrance Bijan Classic for Men was awarded Best Fragrance of the Year by the Fragrance Foundation.
Before he dies in 2011, the designer-led a fascinating life, married twice and had three children from both marriages. In 1992, he even launched a fragrance dedicated to his three children, called DNA (Daniela, Nicolas and Alexandra).
