Annick Goutal was a fascinating woman with an unusual life path. She had been a pianist and a model before the discovery of her genuine gift - perfumery.
Her artistic personality and passion to celebrate beauty in all its forms led her to the world of perfumery. She opened her first shop in Paris in 1981. The charming place with a luxurious feel and touch marked the birth of the Annick Goutal house.
With her exquisite taste and love for only the highest quality of raw materials, Annick quickly made a name for herself and became a favorite perfume brand to many popular artists around the world, among which are Madonna and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Her constant flair for excellence and authenticity is seen from the final result of her creation, where every raw material is carefully selected and every perfume bottle is made exclusively in France by expert craftsmen. The decorative touches of each perfume bottle are almost entirely handmade and each bears a memory from Annick’s life.
Her first perfume - Eau d'Hadrien is a cult, timeless classic to this day. It is a citrusy unisex fragrance inspired by Annick’s love of Italy and more specifically - Tuscany. Annick’s first creations - Eau d’Hadrien, Passion and Petite Cherie helped write a new chapter in French perfumery.
After her death in 1999, Annick’s legacy is being carried by her daughter - Camille Goutal and her lifelong working partner - Isabel Doyen. They both share the same love for fine raw materials and continue spreading emotions and stories with a unique olfactory signature.
